Graphics file formats such as InDesign, FrameMaker or PDF must be processed by our DTP specialists before being imported in the CAT tools.

Our DTP specialists can handle the following file formats expertly and quickly:

  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Access
  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Open Office
  • TXT, CSV
  • XML
  • HTML
  • PDF
  • Adobe FrameMaker
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe PageMaker
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • CorelDRAW
  • Tagged-Image File Format (tif)
  • Graphic Interchange Format (gif)
  • Joint Photographic Experts Group (jpg)

If you use a file format which is not on the list, you can forward us the file to be translated nonetheless. With our technical support we can always find a way to process the files correctly by means of CAT tools.

Can a PDF file be translated as well?

Yes, a PDF file can be used for the translation – even implementing a translation memory. However, the complete translation process takes longer than in case of an InDesign or a FrameMaker file.

Subsequently, our DTP specialist has to produce a completely new editable InDesign file out of the non-editable PDF file which can then be used for translation. Finally, you obtain a PDF file identical with the original PDF file as well as an editable InDesign or Word file from us.
